In 2016, I purchased a 1967 Cape Cod style home in Camden, Maine. The kitchen and office space were a dark and puzzling labyrinth of walls, islands, and ceiling supports. Hungry for solutions, I began to ask neighbors and friends about their experiences with home renovation. Each hand painted cabinet and a six-foot island slipped into place like pieces of a puzzle. Next, the white shaker style cabinets were topped with cherry countertops. With the new open design and increased natural light, the room glowed.

My wife, Barney, and I live in Atlantic Beach, Florida. We rented a house in Camden each summer beginning in 1989, until 2003, when we decided to buy one. One of the properties for sale in Rockport was a home built by Bob Zontini of The Rockport Company. Although we didn’t purchase it, we were impressed by the quality of workmanship evident everywhere in the house, so much so that when we decided to build on own home rather than purchase an existing one, we immediately called Bob. Using plans drawn by Camden architect Christopher Glass, Bob began construction in the early summer of 2004 and finished in the fall of 2005. The house was completed less than two months past the original completion date (and the delay was the fault of a supplier, not Bob) and cost about 5% more than the original budget. Anyone who has built a house knows that’s a great result! Through the entire process of construction, Bob was responsive, organized, very professional and pleasant to work with. Best of all, our house is wonderfully built! The quality of Bob’s work is visible throughout the house and adds measurably to our continued enjoyment in being there. Our experience has been so positive in every respect that we have continued to use Bob as our caretaker, and we are delighted with the careful, attentive service he provides. In 1996 - 1997 we had The Rockport Company, (Robert Zontini) build us a new home in Camden. At the time we lived in California and had met Robert through friends. We can only say that we were completely satisfied with every aspect of his construction. You will not find a more honest, and helpful person with whom to do business.
